What is "vapor" synthesis? |
|
"Vapor synthesis" is not a well-defined term regarding granular synthesis.
But on crusher-X it means a special combination of features: Having a floating audio buffer that is used to derive grain generators from it. Grains are produced by the generators that are assigned to different outputs (3D version). LFO and manual modulations (not only random modulation like one find in common granular synthesis systems) are done on each generator and they "spread" their modulations with a given phase over the generators. This leads to "inherited" modulations on each generator and produces a feeling of "vapor" in your ears...
