These are the initial steps to do for setting up a multichannel video / audio system:
-
Install Copy of syncMaker PRO on each Computer
-
Register the copy on each computer (following the Registration Wizard instructions). Note: For each copy of syncMaker on each computer you need a new license. So please buy as much licenses as you have computers running in your setup.
-
Copy the media files that you plan to use on each computer. To make it easier for you, you might choose same paths and file names even if the content is not the same. In this case you can use a single Playlist for all computers.
-
Set Option to "MASTER" on one Computer.
-
All other Computers are Slaves. Set Option to "SLAVE"
-
Choose Option Connection via LAN TCP/IP or Serial COM Port
-
Make logical and physical connections (see COM Connection or LAN Connection)
-
Setup the Playlist on the Master Computer by adding/deleting files to and from the List.
-
You can choose the IN-Point and Out-Point and additional Sync Points for each Playlist entry using the trackbar and the buttons in the Playlist section.
-
For each Filelist Entry you can choose a self defined Hotkey. If this Hotkey is pressed syncmaker automatically jumps to the desired entry and stops there. Press <space> to start from that point again.
-
For each Filelist Entry you can either choose a different MIDI-Key on a Midi Keyboard. Just choose the desired Playlist entry and press <Learn Midi> to assign a Midi-Key to the File.
-
Test the Playlist and store it.
-
Then use the Menu File|Send Playlist to Slaves to transfer the Playlist to the attached slaves. If you had using different filenames or paths on the slaves (see step 3.), you have to edit the Playlist on each Slave. For that turn back to Master-Mode, edit and save Playlist, and after that turn back to slave mode.
-
If you change the trackbar at the Master all the Slaves should follow now correctly at the same frames.
-
You may like adjust DV-Resolution in DirectX Menu if you using DV-Files. Choose "Full" on high speed PCs to gain maximum DV Resolution during playback.
-
Check Test if you want the Master stepping thru his frames. All slaves should follow relative to their IN-Points. The "Receive" LED should blink on receiving.
-
Set Lock on each Slave to Lock you settings if you like. This is not necessary. It will only save your settings if you don't want people to change your settings. To unlock the interface press Key "!". After that the Menu entry Edit| Unlock Interface is enabled and you can use it.
-
On closing syncMaker PRO all settings including the Playlist are saved.
