LAN Connection

About the LAN Connection via TCP/IP:

You can connect as many syncMaker PRO as you like using LAN- or WLAN- Connections. Set LAN-Option on each running syncMaker.

Note: Setting up a LAN or WLAN Network is not easy. If the following information appears to strange for you, please use the easier COM-Connections.

  1. Please install TCP/IP Network and set manually fix IP address for each Computer (e.g. 192.168.0.1 for Master and 192.168.0.x for Slaves).
  2. It is recommended that you should deactivate automatic DHCP-Server. Using a DHCP-Server IP addresses may change on rebooting the computers so syncmaker PRO tries to access to the wrong IPs and will fail. If this is not possible in your LAN, contact your LAN Administrator to make sure that the DHCP-Server don`t change the IPs of the syncMaker PRO Master and Slaves Computers. An other possibility is to using the Network names (names of the computers in the network) instead of IPs. See Windows Network Help if you are unsure what this means.
  3. Locate Master IP in syncMaker PRO (see IP Label)
  4. Enter Master IP (or the computer name) of the master in each Slaves IP-Box (without any extensions like :2271)
  5. The IP of the Slaves should been listed automatic in Master List box now.
  6. Only close and restart Master and Slaves together. The slaves have no chance to reconnect if you close and start only the Master.
  7. If you have to adjust the Port Number please edit it in the registry File the key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\accSone\syncMaker PRO\3\System\Server_Port

    The default port is: 2271.
  8. Be sure that you disable Firewalls at least on the Master computer or define a new rule to let the port 2271 thru.
