| How to control the crusher with MIDI events in Live? |
Problem: Normal audio tracks in Live don't receive MIDI events. Noramly the crusher is loaded as an audio effect in an audio track. So it can't be controlled via MIDI without a trick. Here is the solution:
Step 1Create a new project, select crusher in section plugin devices...
Step 2... and add it to an audio track.
Step 3Select MIDI track...
Step 4and select External Instrument in section Live Devices and add it to the MIDI track.
Step 5Go to the Ext. Instrument window. In the MIDI To section select the target Audio track and the target crusher effect:
Step 6Make sure MIDI will be received in Live by selecting your MIDI device.
Step 7Open crushers editor, press Parameter/MIDI button in Program panel to open Control Assignments. Send an MIDI event to Live and see the MIDI event appearing in the top/left section (Learn control). Turn a knop on the crushers editor and press Add to assign the control. Or do the following shortcut...
Step 8Rightclick on a element in the editor and click Learn Controller. Then send a MIDI event to Live. The assignment will be automatically added to the Control Assignment List.
