All sources (e.g. DCO, Live-Input, Feed) are routed to the vapor effect input. The resulting sound is crushed! All crusher panels share the same structure. All parameters apply to all of the specified grain generators. First you choose the desired Parameter by pressing the buttons above and then adjust the belonging faders.
The faders and controllers in the crusher panel enable real-time control of the crusher-X process. In the joystick dialog (only crusherX-Live!) you can choose which parameter should be mirrored at the force feedback device and let your hands shake!
The Offset fader sets the general offset of the parameter defined in the left upper corner of the panel.
Depth defines the modulation depth of the first oscillator (or modulator)
Speed determines the frequency of the modulation.
Mode sets the oscillator mode. Many LFO types are available:
-
Use X UpManual, X DnManual, Off, etc. to assign the modulator.
-
Manual allows you to modulate with the PM-Field or the Joystick.
-
Off means that the modulator is fixed to the neutral 50% value.
-
OffUp assigns a fixed 0% value and
-
OffDn assigns the value to 100%.
-
If you choosing LFO type Spline you can edit your own waveform.
-
MIDI Velocity Ramp ties the modulator on an Ramp determinited by the MIDI Velocity, the Attack and the Release Value setting in the MIDI Key panel.
-
MIDI Key aftertouch and MIDI Channelpressure ties the Modulator to the related MIDI events.
Each modulation is passed through a logarithm to exponent processing. You can adjust the processing curve with the log-lin-exp fader. The little graph will show you the resulting processing. In combination with the modulations sources this function is very useful to generate more "human" modulations.
Use the Cloud fader for additional modulation. This general modulator can be configured and controlled at the right side of the panel named Cloud. You can use this if you like to add synchronous modulation to different Parameters (e.g. Length and Speed). Use Cloud Phase Fader to change the phase of the modulation for each parameter separately. This allow interesting sounds where the parameters are modulated synchronous but e.g. contrary. If you like to apply only cloud modulation to the parameter you have to choose the Depth Fader to 0.
To define the fader range, slide the small buttons above the faders if they are available on the desired parameter.
Use the Gen. Phase fader to define a change of the modulation phase between the individual generators. Note: Changes between single generators can only be made by using the Gen. Phase fader.
For a visual example, look at the Cloud 3D window while running the crusher and change the parameters!
